HOWTO: Installing Dia from Source in Dapper Drake

I don’t know you guys, but Dia has a bug in Dapper Drake and If I’m not wrong this bug already existed in Breezy. When you click in the bottom right part (the black cross) to see the navigation window, Dia crashes. So, I’ve decided to install it from source. Get the package here:

http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/

First of all remove all dia packages from your computer. Then you must have the build-essential package installed, libxml-parser-perl and if I’m not wrong gcc (it is not included in build-essential).

Well, then type:

./configure

make

make gave me three errors but installed correctly, so these errors should not be very important.

make install

and that’s all. Make wonderful diagrams with Dia
