I’ve been using Linux for five years now, and I’ve tried several distros, like Debian, Fedora, Suse, Mandrake (now Mandriva) and Gentoo. All were great distros with its pros and cons till I bump into Ubuntu. Ubuntu is one of the most awesome distros out there. Easy, powerful and nearly all works out of the box. I’ve always said that Ubuntu is an easy Debian, with all the power and tools of Debian without having to fight and investigate on how to configure things, some of them basic such as a printer.
apt-get rocks
Lots of software packages, more than any distro out there,
Ubuntu community is by far the very best of any linux distro community
is based on Debian, and Debian, in my opinion, is one of the more stable and rock solid distros in the world
