All about security

This week Catalonia has been deeply sad for one terrible crime. Three people have been killed stabbed to death by two men in a jewellery shop . What makes the story much more sad is that they were from the same family, a couple and his son.

This crime has had its implications and many questions have arisen. Is there enough security, so we can walk around without thinking about security or fearing for our safety. Where are those who should save our lives when we need them? Politicians, as always, seem to turn a blind eye on security, saying that this crime has been unusual for its cruelty and that we should not care about security, because we live in a secure state. But where are the cops? Are there enough cops to ensure the safetiness of this country?

If this country is to stand any chance of ensuring the security of its citizens, it must provide all kind of resources, either by means of more police or more technology. That means more money, a question that this government has never been able to deal with, incapable to balance the budget of this country. There are priorities, and security is one of the most important ones.

Another important point that shouldn’t be forgotten is the enormous gap between social classes, mostly due to immigration and those who live in the poverty. What’s going on in France? Poverty is one of the causes that make insecurity happen. The government should beef up its plan against illegal immigration and ensure equality for all its citizens.

I reckon that insecurity will ever be hanging around since violence is part of the mankind. History has plenty to tell about crimes, but what’s true is that insecurity can be tackled by providing more resources and applying the methods above pointed out.
